Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, providing outstanding customer service while guiding them through product selections and store offerings
- Conduct engaging product demonstrations to educate customers about cannabis strains, products, and accessories
- Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Manage cash register operations, including cash handling, balancing cash drawers, and ensuring transaction accuracy
- Assist with merchandising efforts by organizing products on shelves and maintaining an attractive store presentation
- Support inventory management through stocking shelves, tracking product levels, and participating in stock audits
- Promote upselling opportunities by recommending complementary products and enhancing the customer experience with creative media displays
- Use your design skills to create eye-catching signage, digital content, or social media posts that highlight new products or promotions
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or placing orders remotely
- Supervise team members when needed, ensuring smooth store operations and exemplary customer interactions
Requirements
- Proven retail sales experience, preferably in a specialty store environment with familiarity in POS systems and cash register operations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate customers clearly about products and services
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities that foster teamwork and efficient store management
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Experience conducting product demos and upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
- Knowledge of retail math for accurate cash handling, cashiering, and balancing cash drawers
- Familiarity with retail store product knowledge, merchandising standards, and inventory stocking procedures
- Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately and managing retail math calculations
- Excellent phone etiquette for professional remote communication with customers or vendors
- Experience in cannabis retail sales is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning about cannabis products is essential
- Additional skills in design or media production to support marketing efforts are a plus
- Grocery store experience is advantageous due to familiarity with fast-paced retail environments
