Job description
This senior-level role provides expert Quality Control testing and technical leadership using advanced analytical laboratory instruments to test JSR photoresist batches. We are seeking a highly experienced candidate with strong technical depth, problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor others while driving continuous improvement in lab processes and product quality
Job requirements
What you Bring:
8–12+ years of progressive experience in analytical chemistry testing within a laboratory, cleanroom, or semiconductor manufacturing environment.
Proficient utilization of analytical chemistry instruments, including chromatography, spectrometry, light scattering, titration, and wet bench chemistry.
Strong understanding of ISO 9001 standards, SQC, SPC principles, laboratory and cleanroom protocols, and general safety practices.
Proficiency with Excel, LIMS, JMP statistical software, and other data analysis tools is required.
Demonstrated hands-on expertise in analytical testing, advanced instrument setup, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and qualification of new tools.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills with a self-motivated, team-oriented mindset.
Safety-first attitude with strong multi-tasking skills and meticulous attention to data quality and integrity.
Job responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
Raise and address EH&S concerns arising in the lab and cleanrooms; conduct inspections and proactively report findings to QC leadership.
Independently perform complex and non-routine production tests according to established procedures, applying superior technical knowledge in creative and effective ways to support batch disposition decisions with minimal supervision. Production testing includes wet bench chemistry, chromatography, metals testing, and other specialized analyses.
Demonstrate expert understanding of quality control concepts, including PCS, non-conforming situations, and SPC. Perform daily monitoring of assigned tools/instruments, review control charts, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
Take ownership of assigned instruments, including advanced troubleshooting, long-term stability monitoring, preventive maintenance, regular calibrations, and qualification of new tools or instruments. Collaborate with tool owners and engineering as needed to resolve complex issues.
Maintain test samples in proper storage conditions and recommend improvements to sample and retain management processes. Sustain 5S standards in the work area.
Proactively support Production, Product Quality, and Technology groups in root-cause investigations by performing specialized testing, providing detailed observations, and contributing technical insights.
Review, update, and recommend improvements to existing procedures affecting assigned test instruments, ensuring conformance to current ISO 9001 standards. Propose new or optimized methods for complex assignments as appropriate.
Enter and review data in designated database systems (LIMS, JMP files, etc.) with high accuracy; interpret results, compare against specifications, and provide clear recommendations.
Serve as a technical mentor and trainer for entry-level and less senior technicians, providing guidance on routine and advanced testing procedures, instrument operation, and best practices.
Take leadership of small-to-medium projects or improvement initiatives with minimal guidance, including participation in FMEA, risk management, or cross-functional teams.
Perform other duties as assigned, such as chemical inventory management, consumables tracking, or special technical assignments in support of production and customer-related issues.
Make proactive suggestions to management for improving lab processes, work methods, and overall efficiency while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance.

Your Compensation & Benefits Package
In compliance with California law, the pay range for this position is $35.00 – $50.00 per hour. Compensation is based on job-related factors including skills, experience, and internal equity.
This position may also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, holidays, and participation in applicable bonus or incentive programs, subject to plan terms and eligibility requirements.
