Johnson Service Group is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Specialist for our client in San Jose. This position supports the planning, implementation, and regulatory compliance of advanced water recycling and reuse projects by conducting technical studies, feasibility analyses, permitting activities, and inter-agency coordination to ensure the successful delivery of water programs.

- Support implementation of the Pure Water Silicon Valley Project and related water reuse initiatives.
- Assist with Phase II of the Oro Loma Horizontal Levee Project, including activities related to RO concentrate management and regulatory concerns.
- Coordinate and support technical studies, including pipe loop studies and other engineering evaluations.
- Assist with site permitting efforts and ensure compliance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requirements.
- Support feasibility studies and technical evaluations for grant-funded Water Recycling Program projects.
- Contribute to direct potable reuse research and pilot program activities.
- Coordinate inter-agency collaboration efforts and maintain project tracking systems, including Water Tracker.
- Perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews, database management, data analysis, and technical reporting.
- Prepare technical memoranda, engineering reports, presentations, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with internal staff, consultants, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; or
- Valid California Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate with two (2) years of related paraprofessional engineering experience.
- No prior professional experience required.
- Valid California Driver's License
- Knowledge of civil and environmental engineering principles, water quality parameters, and water/wastewater treatment processes.
- Familiarity with recycled water production, water reuse programs, and water resource management.
- Experience supporting engineering feasibility studies, technical analyses, and report preparation.
- Understanding of permitting and regulatory requirements related to recycled water, water reuse, and environmental compliance is desirable.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and technical data management tools.
