The ideal candidate will have experience with both external (OD) and internal (ID) cylindrical grinding and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.

We are seeking a skilled OD/ID Grinding Technician to operate precision grinding machines to produce components to tight aerospace or high-precision tolerances. The ideal candidate will have experience with both external (OD) and internal (ID) cylindrical grinding and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate OD/ID grinding machines (manual and/or CNC) to perform precision grinding operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Measure workpieces using micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to tight tolerances.
- Adjust machine settings and tooling to achieve optimal surface finish and dimensional accuracy.
- Perform in-process inspections and document results according to quality standards.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Work with engineering and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues and implement process improvements.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all safety procedures and protocols.
- High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in OD/ID grinding, preferably in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing.
- Ability to work to close tolerances (±0.0001”) and interpret GD&T.
- Familiarity with grinding wheels, dressing tools, feeds, speeds, and coolant systems.
- Proficiency in using precision inspection tools such as micrometers, indicators, and surface finish comparators.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with CNC grinding machines (e.g., Studer, Okuma, Toyoda, etc.)
- Aerospace or defense industry experience (AS9100 or similar)
- Basic knowledge of SPC and documentation requirements
