Environment, Health and Safety Manager

JSG is seeking an EHS Manager for our client in Paso Robles. The EHS Manager will take a leadership role in establishing and maintaining a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible work environment for our client. This role is ideal for a proactive safety professional with a strong background in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management who is committed to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive EHS programs that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure proper reporting and follow-up procedures are adhered to, fostering a culture of safety.
• Collaborating with plant management and department leads to integrate safety practices into daily operations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant environmental and safety regulations to ensure compliance.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for safety protocols, environmental reports, and training records.
• Coordinate emergency response planning, drills, and safety training sessions for all employees.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety initiatives, recommending improvements as needed.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external regulatory audits and inspections.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven track record in environmental health and safety management, ideally within manufacturing or industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and industry best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and develop tailored safety protocols.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to promote safety awareness among diverse teams.
• Proficiency with safety management systems and incident reporting software.
• Ability to analyze safety data and proactively address potential hazards.
• Experience in training employees on safety procedures and environmental policies.

Desirable Skills:

• Hands-on experience working in industrial or manufacturing environments, particularly with process safety.
• Strong understanding of sustainability and environmental conservation initiatives.
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in EHS roles, with progressive responsibility.
• Certifications such as Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or OSHA HAZWOPER certification are highly advantageous.

Additional Requirements:

• Willing to travel occasionally for site audits, training sessions, and external inspections.
• Ability to respond quickly to safety incidents and provide effective solutions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining compliance documentation.
