Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Assistant to join our client's Boca Raton office. This individual will support the firm's day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, billing, payment processing, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Process and record daily financial transactions, including cash receipts, payments, and disbursements.
Manage accounts payable, including processing invoices, issuing checks, and coordinating vendor payments.
Prepare, review, and process client billings, including billing corrections and adjustments.
Post incoming payments and maintain accurate financial records.
Process wire transfers and other banking transactions.
Reconcile bank statements, accounts, and financial discrepancies.
Maintain and update general ledger entries to ensure accuracy.
Assist with month-end accounting activities and financial reporting.
Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment-related inquiries.
Support the accounting team with additional administrative and financial responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience in accounting or a similar financial support role.
Working knowledge of accounts payable, billing, reconciliations, and general ledger transactions.
Prior law firm accounting experience preferred, but not required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.
Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
