Overview
We are seeking a talented and motivated IT Support Specialist with experience administering an O365 environment to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and organizational skills. They will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, providing technical support to end-users, and implementing effective solutions to IT-related issues.
The ideal candidate is an active listener who enjoys working with people and providing assistance as needed (technical or otherwise). The IT Support Specialist will continuously encourage, train and coach users on software, equipment, and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
- Perform system administration tasks including user account management, system configuration, and security updates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain IT policies and procedures.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components.
- Proactively identify and address potential IT issues to prevent downtime.
- Provide basic training to users regarding hardware and software utilization.
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies and recommend updates or improvements.
- Occasionally travel to local job sites for onsite assistance as needed.
- Assist in the support of the following technologies:
- Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Defender, Azure AD/Entra ID (formerly Active Directory), InTune, Teams
- SonicWall firewall
- Windows Server 2016-2019
- Common Windows server roles and features such as DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policy, Routing and Remote Access, Remote Desktop Gateway, Hyper-V
- WAN, LAN, WiFi and VPN technologies
- Cellular and satellite communications
- Internet and cyber security
- Remote access implementations and methods
- Business grade printers, scanners, copiers
- Various line of business applications including Viewpoint Vista, Procore, Navisworks, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Cloud, Coro, and many more.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years experience supporting IT infrastructure in an enterprise environment OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Windows and O365 (Exchange Online, Defender, Azure AD/Entra ID, InTune, Teams, SharePoint).

- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical problems and solutions to a wide audience.
- Familiarity with networking principles and protocols.
- Certification in CompTIA A and/or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator.
Working Conditions:
- This position is based out of our corporate office in Vancouver, WA. Occasional travel may be required to support JR Merit’s projects.
- Work is generally performed while standing or sitting, in an office environment, with a computer and telephone.
Compensation Range:
$70,000-$90,000
