What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packaging Team Leader position at JR MANUFACTURING INC?
Position Summary:
Plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and work conditions.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
- Assign work to ensure part availability for customer shipments
- Able to change planned production on short notice, dependent on part availability
- Ensure 5's activities are being implemented and monitored
- Enforcement of Safety Policy
- Production support- communicating necessary tasks with managers & associates daily
- Manage operations staffing issues
- Check inventory daily with supervisors
- Correct any misprinted labels for inventory accuracy
- Attend meetings as needed
- Team member coaching and development (training)
- Work closely with the quality department to root-cause and countermeasure current issues
- Verify information on computer such as feeder logs, In-Process, Weld tip change, Destructs
- Provide leadership for the successful day to day operation
- Work closely with production personnel to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement
- Make sure quality parts are being made, stop production if defective or unsafe parts or conditions appear.
Qualifications: (knowledge, skills and abilities):
- High school education or GED. Secondary education is a plus
- Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead team members and get results through others.
- Supervision: including employee hiring and retention, performance review, and counseling.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications, the Internet
- High degree of professionalism along with organizational skills, tact, and diplomacy.
Nonessential Skills and Experience (preferred):
- Forklift License
- Driver's License
