1st Shift Forklift Operator

Position Summary:    

Production Forklift operator will safely and efficiently transport materials, supplies and finished products to designated areas throughout the facility. 

Primary Position Responsibilities:

• Weigh, label, and move containers to finished goods.
• Sort, clean, bring and create containers for machine operators.
• Load tube hoppers. 
• Keep material storage area organized 
• Sort/clean/etc. when not busy moving material or assisting production
• Assist in the problem solving and continuous improvement processes
• Work overtime with little or no notice
• Communicate and work effectively with peers, and management
•  Occasionally assist with loading of or loads and unloads goods and materials.
• Facilitates daily inspection of lift; reports maintenance malfunctions to Production Manager
• Moves internal scrap to external hopper
• Organizing and maintaining dunnage storage inside and outside of the facility
• Occasionally assist with pulling shipments per the assigned customer pick ticket.
• Assist with machine change overs by using lift when needed
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Assist quality, management, and maintenance when required.
• Communicate in all ways requested, either in person or on the radio provided. This should be done in a timely manner.
• Must portray a professional attitude at all times.
• Understand, follow and support company non-conformance, safety, 5S methodology, Quality Policy protocols and rules.
• Be constructive in feedback and instructions.
• Be fair, honest and positive with all fellow team members.
• Follow and ensure the proper tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) are being utilized. 
• Must be able to travel on occasion

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good math and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
• Efficient time management skills.
• Ability to remain focused in busy environment.
• Pass certification internally to operate forklift
• Able to lift or move 40lbs unassisted. Able to lift or move 50lbs with aid.
•  Prolonged periods of alternating sitting and standing for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a fast paced ever changing environment
• Computer/ Walking/ Sitting/ Stairs in a manufacturing/warehouse facility
• Ability to work in unforeseen above average hot or cold temperatures
