What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Labor East Side Indy position at JQ Staffing?
East Side Recycling Facility Looking for Permanent Employees to Grow With Them!
Pay Rate - $13 to $15/hr.
Shift - Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with occasional mandatory OT on Saturdays.
Essential Job Duties:
- Load or unload scrap metal material
- Dismantle/disassemble/sort various scrap components
- Manually move material from one place to another
- Pack or wrap material by hand
- Follow production plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers
- Adhere to operational, health, and safety protocols
- Other duties as assigned by the plant manager
Required Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have ability and DESIRE to work in ALL weather types, such as rain, snow, cold, heat, etc. Building
is neither heated nor cooled. - Ability to use variety of hand tools such as drills, brooms, shovels, etc.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours a day
- Ability to work overhead, kneel, and stand for long periods
- Ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written form
Job Conditions:
This position is exposed to all weather
conditions. Workers will be provided the following PPE hard hats, hearing
protection, gloves, and additional personal protective equipment (PPE) as
needed.
CANDIDATES WILL BE
REQUIRED TO PROVIDE STEEL TOED WORK BOOTS WHICH MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES.

- High school or equivalent
Required experience:
- Warehouse: 1 year
Candidates must be willing to submit to a drug and background screen.
