This position is also responsible for verifying patient information in the computer system and collecting pharmacy co- pays according to determined financial classification eligibility.

Typical Duties
- Reviews patient information and prescription refill availability information in the computer system for patients of all age groups.
- Provides outstanding customer service by assisting patients with prescription/refill requests directly and via the telephone.
- Intakes new written prescriptions and refill requests and routes to the outpatient pharmacy for processing.
- Maintains, sorts, and monitors prescription bins.
- Assists in resolving issues and concerns that occur in the pharmacy; reports and documents incidents and activities as required by the department.
- Ensures the pharmacy is clean, orderly and safe in accordance with established guidelines.
- Collects pharmacy co-pays according to determined financial classification eligibility.
- Performs cashier functions and runs daily cashier reports.
- Maintains supplies and forms necessary to perform duties.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Must be enrolled in the JPS Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
- 6 plus months of Pharmacy or clerical experience.
- 1 plus year of experience using Microsoft Professional Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Some college courses
- 1 plus year of experience with third party coverage.
