Join Our Team as a GM/Ford Parts Associate
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Parts Department Counter Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have automotive parts knowledge, strong customer service skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment.
As a GM/Ford Parts Associate you will assist customers, technicians, and service advisors by identifying and supplying the correct parts needed to keep vehicles running safely and efficiently. You will play a key role in supporting our service department and providing excellent experience for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting the correct automotive parts and accessories by leveraging your mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service by building relationships, understanding their needs, and offering tailored solutions.
- Manage inventory control, stock stocking, and order fulfillment to maintain an organized and efficient parts department.
- Use POS (Point of Sale) systems for accurate cashiering, cash handling, and sales transactions while ensuring proper documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize sales management strategies and meet dealership or retail targets.
- Maintain detailed records of parts sales, inventory levels, and customer interactions using Microsoft Office tools or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.
- Support automotive diagnostics and mechanical troubleshooting to assist customers with vehicle maintenance or repair questions.
- Follow dealership procedures and maintain a clean, organized parts area.
Requirements
- GM or Ford parts experience is a plus.
- Proven experience in automotive parts sales or dealership environments is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair processes, and automotive diagnostics.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and client communication abilities.
- Ability to negotiate effectively while maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, POS platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Multilingual or bilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and order fulfillment.
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures, automotive service standards, and retail math principles is advantageous.
- Must have a good work ethic and positive attitude
