Reporting directly to the Yard and Shop Manager, the Purchasing Coordinator supports JP Cullen’s
operations by managing the ordering, purchasing, receiving, and inventory of tools and materials, while
ensuring all company policies and quality standards are followed. They maintain strong relationships
with vendors to secure competitive pricing and reliable service, complete daily data entry tasks such as
pick tickets, and collaborate with accounting on monthly consumable reporting. This role also updates
equipment rate sheets, tracks equipment requests and usage, closes out projects in Align Toolwatch,
and keeps certification records current—all while contributing to a positive and collaborative work
environment. The Purchasing Coordinator works closely with the Superintendents, Vendors, and other
team members to ensure they have the correct tools and materials.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the intent of JP Cullen policies, procedures, and quality standards are followed in accordance with our Quality Management System.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment through professional communication with customers, vendors, coworkers, and management.
- Coordinate the ordering, purchasing, receiving, and inventory management of tools and materials in partnership with the Yard & Shop Manager and Operations Managers.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to support competitive pricing, warranty coordination, service needs, and appropriate inventory levels.
- Complete daily data entry tasks, including processing pick tickets and other operational documentation.
- Partner with the Accounting team to prepare and submit the monthly consumable report.
- Update Builder Supply and consumable rate sheets on a weekly basis to maintain accurate and current information.
- Manage project closeouts within Align Toolwatch and monitor equipment requests and usage.
- Maintain accurate certification records to support compliance and operational readiness.
- Assist and support the department with administrative tasks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support department and company needs
- Associate’s degree in business, Accounting, Operations, etc. and 4 years of ordering, purchasing, receiving, and inventory of tools and materials experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience with good organizational skills.
- Good understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc.
- Must possess superior communication and interpersonal (facilitation, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft products, included but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience with Align software, a database for tool and equipment tracking, is a plus but not
