Duties
- Provide attentive supervision and care for children of various ages, including toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children
- Plan and implement engaging activities that support childhood development, learning, and social skills
- Ensure safety by adhering to childhood development best practices, behavior management strategies, and mandated reporting laws
- Administer first aid and CPR when necessary to ensure the health and safety of those in your care
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, activities, and any concerns
- Support children with disabilities by adapting activities and providing personalized assistance to promote inclusion
- Maintain a clean, organized environment conducive to learning and play while following daycare or classroom protocols
Qualifications
- Experience working with children across different age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and early childhood education practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training preferred
- Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration
- Classroom or daycare experience demonstrating activity planning for children’s growth milestones
- Ability to follow mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare
- Patience, compassion, and enthusiasm for nurturing young minds in a safe environment
