What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Nanny and Companion Caregiver (20+ hrs per week) Placement position at Jovie of CA, WA, and MN?
Jovie
Seattle, WA, USA
Summary:
A bit about us: We are a warm, playful two-mom family seeking a long-term caregiver to support our two energetic children (ages 3 and 5) and provide gentle companion care for a live-in grandmother with early-onset Alzheimer’s. Our younger child is on the spectrum and experiences sensory sensitivities and language delays, and we value caregivers who approach neurodiversity with understanding and confidence. Grandpa also lives in the home, and our household is lively, loving, and rooted in curiosity. We spend our time exploring the arboretum, visiting local parks, cooking together, and enjoying dance parties or weekend outings. We’re looking for someone who can help create calm structure within active days and who feels excited to join our collaborative, village-style approach to family life.
A bit about you: You are patient, steady, proactive, and genuinely passionate about chosen-care professions. You enjoy building rhythms with children, staying active, and meeting kids at their level, whether that means getting on the floor to play trains, joining a dance break, or offering 1:1 attention during busier moments. You’re also comfortable spending time with an elder who benefits from companionship, conversation, walks, outings, cooking together, and light shared activities. You stay calm under pressure, redirect with warmth, and use clear communication with parents to ensure everyone is aligned.
Job Duties: Daily responsibilities include school and daycare pick-ups (using your own vehicle, car seats will be provided), after-school care, simple meal and snack prep, and supporting active weekday routines. You’ll also spend specific hours each week with the grandmother, engaging her in walks, household tasks she enjoys, going on outings and small adventures, and meaningful companionship. Light household tasks tied to childcare and grandmother care are expected (no ADL or medical needs). The role involves maintaining a steady rhythm for the children, supporting their sensory needs, offering gentle guidance, and communicating regularly with parents. “Text NANNY to 206-752-6917 to apply and schedule your interview in under 3 minutes.
