Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Employment Specialist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will play a vital part in empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds to achieve meaningful employment and independence. Your expertise will help connect clients with workforce development opportunities, navigate employment and labor laws, and provide tailored coaching and mentoring. This position offers an exciting chance to make a positive impact on individuals with disabilities, including those with developmental disabilities and autism, while fostering inclusive community engagement. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, strong communication skills, and a passion for social services to support underserved communities in reaching their employment goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized employment plans for clients based on their skills, interests, and abilities.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to enhance clients’ job readiness, interview skills, and workplace behavior.
• Assist clients in navigating employment laws, workplace accommodations, and labor regulations to ensure compliance and fair treatment.
• Collaborate with employers, community organizations, and workforce development programs to create inclusive job opportunities.
• Conduct outreach to culturally diverse communities and underserved populations to promote available services and resources.
• Maintain detailed case management records, document client progress, and prepare reports using Microsoft Office tools.
• Support clients through the entire employment process—from job search strategies to onboarding—while providing ongoing social work support.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other disabilities.
• Knowledge of employment & labor law as it relates to workplace accommodations and rights.
• Experience working with culturally diverse communities and underserved populations.
• Strong coaching, mentoring, training & development skills to empower clients toward independence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and documentation.
• Familiarity with social services systems, case management practices, and workforce development programs.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
