Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced EMS professional to develop our EMS Division (BLS only) in Harlingen, TX and lead our team in delivering the highest-quality patient transport and care in a non-emergency setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background (minimum 4 years) in EMS management and the ability to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced environment. The EMS Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of transport, day-to-day operations, and County/State compliance, ensuring the highest level of patient care, and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and overall operations.
Journey is a federally contracted, disabled veteran-owned and operated, EMS service whose primary function is the provision of transportation services to our military veterans and patients of the VA Healthcare System. With over 100 vehicles on the road, and offices throughout California and also in Tennessee, Journey is a progressive and rapidly growing specialty transport provider.
Duties:
- Oversee all regional transport operations for our Texas regional area including non-emergency, emergency, and specialty transportation.
- Manage departmental budgets and ensure proper workforce resources are in place
- Develop, implement, and monitor protocols for BLS transport
- Collaborate with VA and other allied healthcare facilities to ensure effective patient transport and care.
- Monitor and improve patient outcomes by analyzing data and implementing changes to processes.
- Supervise and train staff, ensuring they meet highest standards of professionalism and care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in our industry and maintain current certifications.
- Ensure State/County EMS compliance
Candidate Requirements:
- Current certification as an emergency medical services provider (TX State licensed EMT-B or higher)
- Minimum of 4 years experience in an EMS management role.
- Familiar with ALS, CCT/SCT transport and other specialty levels of transport.
- Proven ability to manage emergency medical services and develop effective protocols.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Outstanding time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
