Position Summary
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates for custom precision sheet metal parts used in industrial products. We are looking for an experienced estimator with communication and professional skills to interact with customers, suppliers, and collaborate across our internal team to drive business growth and profitability.
Responsibilities
· Analyze customer drawings and all specifications to determine most cost effective method of production based on material, equipment, and tooling capabilities and capacity
· Estimate accurate operation sequence, setup and run times
· Coordinate with suppliers to obtain accurate pricing on outsourced parts and processes
· Develop and maintain accurate product routings and BOMs. Prepare accurate and timely estimates of production costs.
· Prepare competitive quotes for customers ensuring accuracy and profitability
· Interface with customers on quotes and technical discussions
· Responsible for product BOMs and routers. Review completed work orders and resolve requested changes to routers and BOM. Monitor variance in actual costs to estimated cost. Identify systemic problems or opportunities. Collaborate with team to drive continuous improvement.
· Review commercial and manufacturing performance with management
· Identify opportunities to improve cost estimation processes and manufacturing processes
· Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for estimating and beyond
· Support engineering programming and other responsibilities as needed
Experience and Qualifications
· Experience with precision sheet metal estimation
· In-depth knowledge of metal fabrication processes and equipment
· High level of skill in reading mechanical and assembly drawings
· Experience with Solidworks
· Proficient in ERP systems and strong computer skills
· Excellent attention to detail
· Experience with machine programming is a plus
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with customers, suppliers and a variety of positions within the company. Tactfulness, professionalism, a team orientation and diplomacy are essential.
· Strong mathematical and analytical skills
· Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure
· High school degree or GED

Schedule: M-F, 7am-3:30pm
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
