Overview
Leading pharmaceutical company looking for an experienced Scientist III. Ideal candidates should have a Masters degree with at least 6 years of experience in molecular, cell biology, or related scientific discipline.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute functional genomics assays, including CRISPR-based editing (e.g., RNP delivery, Perturb-seq), single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and CITE-seq.
- Provide technical guidance and training to research scientists on FGSL technologies and techniques, including assay execution, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical issues.
- Document and maintain detailed laboratory records in accordance with policies.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment in collaboration with other lab members.
- Assist in the acquisition of necessary supplies and equipment.
- Define and perform appropriate quality control measures.
- Follow relevant scientific literature to ensure use of optimal methods and stay current with emerging practices across the field.
- Demonstrate the ability to interpret experimental outcomes, propose appropriate follow-up actions, and suggest new avenues of investigation.
- Communicate work effectively both orally and in writing.
- Contribute to writing protocols, procedures, and technical reports.
- Automate processing and results reporting/delivery.
- Report and handle data with integrity and ethics.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CRISPR experience with designing guides, performing transfections/infections, selecting edited cells, and validating knockouts/knock-ins.
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as qPCR, Western blot, cloning, and gel electrophoresis.
- Experience in cell culture, maintaining multiple cell lines, and sterile techniques.
- Hands-on experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS), including library preparation and quality control.
- Knowledge of single-cell technologies, sample prep, and library generation.
- Ability to troubleshoot experiments both independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Education: Master’s degree in molecular, cell biology, or a related scientific discipline with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
