Job Title: Machine Operator III
Location: San Jose, CA
Type: Contract
Compensation: $20- $30/hr
Work Model: Onsite
Hours: Mon- Fri 8am- 5pm
Responsibilities
- Support high-volume medical device manufacturing through precision manual finishing and CNC machine operation
- Perform manual deburring of aluminum components to meet strict cosmetic and dimensional standards
- Use hand tools such as swivel deburring tools, scrapers, and abrasive pads to ensure parts are burr-free and meet quality standards
- Conduct detailed visual inspections prior to quality review
- Load raw materials and unload finished parts from Mazak and Makino machining centers (mills and lathes)
- Run established programs and monitor production cycles
- Perform basic tool changes and tool offset adjustments
- Conduct in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Maintain production output in alignment with daily schedules
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks such as coolant checks, lubrication, and chip removal
- Identify and respond to machine alarms and abnormal operation
- Assist in diagnosing mechanical or tooling issues, with opportunities to develop troubleshooting skills
- 1–3 years of CNC experience in a production environment
- Experience operating milling machines and/or CNC lathes
- Familiarity with Mazatrol and/or Fanuc-based controls (Makino Pro3, Pro5, or Pro6) preferred
- Strong attention to detail for cosmetic aluminum components
- Ability to perform tool offset adjustments and basic tool changes
- Comfortable using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Basic understanding of machine operation and maintenance fundamentals
- Ability to understand basic machine operation and recognize abnormal conditions, with interest in developing troubleshooting skills
- Ability to complete production and quality documentation accurately
- Basic computer skills (email, following digital work instructions, and entering production data)
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8 hours), lift up to 50 lbs, and work around industrial machinery
