What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Operations position at Josh's Pickles?
Location: Utah (in-person, daily collaboration)
Compensation: $80–120k salary performance bonus
Employment Type: Full-time
Josh’s Pickles makes craft, fresh-packed pickles from century-old family recipes. What began as a hobby quickly turned into something much bigger — the kind of lightning-in-a-jar moment every founder dreams about. We hit the market with the right product, the right story, at exactly the right time. Our videos now generate millions of views every week, ecommerce orders are coming in by the minute, retail doors are expanding, and we see a clear line of sight to 10x revenue in the next 12 months.
This is truly a ground-floor moment in a company that’s catching fire.
Josh, our founder, is no stranger to building successful businesses — over the past two decades, he’s built tech products used by hundreds of millions of people. But this venture is closer to the heart. Feeding people is one of the most honest, joyful businesses there is… and it turns out people really love great pickles. They’re having a cultural moment, and our product quality speaks for itself.
We’re now growing faster than our existing systems can keep up, and we’re looking for an experienced Head of Operations to help build the operational backbone of the company. You’ll work directly with the founder every day, own the full ecommerce retail ops stack, and architect the processes that will take Josh’s Pickles from fast-growing startup to nationally recognized brand.
If you’ve scaled a CPG brand before, know ecommerce and retail ops cold, and love building systems with your own hands — this might be the most fun job you ever take.
Think of the list below as a starting point. In a young, fast-moving company, things shift quickly and everyone jumps in where needed (read: there may be some unglamorous work). If Josh is willing to do it — and he is — then we’re looking for someone who’s wired the same way.

5 years experience in CPG operations, ideally refrigerated or high-SKU-turnover categories
Deep experience managing 3PLs, supply chain, logistics, and ecommerce fulfillment
Experience supporting retail distribution, including compliance, EDI, and onboarding
Phenomenal communication skills
High ownership, low ego, and the ability to learn quickly and adapt
A love of structure, process, and data-backed decision making (spreadsheets are your love language)
The desire to work directly with the founder every day to level up the business
Scrappy enough to roll up your sleeves
Sharp enough to build scalable systems
Experienced enough that we learn from you — not the other way around
Competitive salary ($80–120k depending on experience)
Performance-based bonus
Daily collaboration with the founder and an opportunity to shape the company’s growth
A role where you’ll have a real voice, real impact, and real ownership
And…free pickles :)
