Family Law Associate Attorney
Joseph Greenwald and Laake PA., an AV-rated, law firm with offices in Greenbelt and Rockville, MD, seeks a highly motivated family law litigation attorney. One plus years of experience in Family Law is required for this high–volume, complex, litigation-based practice. This position presents a unique opportunity to join a dynamic practice, and to quickly assume substantial responsibility, including court appearances, with one of the area’s premier law firms. We anticipate on-boarding immediately. MD Bar is required, DC and VA Bars a plus. The position will be housed in our Rockville office. Job offers competitive salary and benefits package to include but not limited to New Child Leave, fitness reimbursement, etc. EOE. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Represent clients in all areas of family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and property division.
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, and discovery demands.
- Conduct discovery and depositions.
- Organize and maintain case files and documents.
- Communicate with potential new clients, clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.
- Schedule appointments and manage own calendar.
- Represent clients at court hearings and argue cases.
-Represent clients at mediations.
-Negotiate and settle cases.
Qualifications and Expectations:
- Doctor of Jurisprudence.
- Ability to bill 1800 hours annually.
- Prior Family Law attorney experience (required).
- Strong knowledge of family law procedures and regulations.
- Proficiency in legal research and document preparation.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
