What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Assistant Personal Injury/Workers' Compensation position at Joseph G Hughes ESQ LLC?
We are seeking a Legal Assistant to support our Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation practice. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Opening, organizing and maintaining files from intake through litigation
· Drafting and editing legal documents and correspondence
· Filing claim petitions and other legal documents on NJCourtsOnline
· Maintaining attorney(s) calendar and key deadlines
· Communicating and follow-up with clients, doctor offices and other law and insurance carriers to keep matters moving forward
· Scheduling client exams and preparing correspondence to doctors regarding upcoming evaluations
Requirements & Qualifications:
· Minimum 2 years legal experience in the field of Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation preferred
· Knowledge of state court filing requirements and NJ ECourts / NJCourtsOnline
· Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to work independently
· Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication
· Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook
· CRITICAL: Demonstrated ability to take initiative, troubleshoot issues, resolve challenges and drive cases forward by implementing solutions
