Job Overview
As a Medical Assistant, you will be a part of the Jose L. Villalobos, JR., M.D., P.A. with our patients to develop lifelong well-being and health. The Medical Assistant role makes a difference in the patient care we offer and assists physicians and other clinicians by providing a unique blend of skills and knowledge to carry out prescribed medical treatment. Medical Assistants are multi-skilled health professionals responsible for performing administrative and clinical tasks in our primary care facilities while delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining positive patient engagement.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and administer medications
- Obtain and record patient histories, vital signs, and other relevant information.
- Perform basic lab tests and EKGs
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Support geriatric patients by providing compassionate care tailored to their specific needs.
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with the medical team to ensure seamless patient care across various departments.
Experience
Candidates should possess:
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and patient service skills
- Experience in an outpatient setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with scribing skills preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent patient service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Typing skills of at least 35 WPM
- Ability to work through interruptions, manage multiple priorities and handle stressful situations
- English fluent preferred
