Job Summary
We are seeking energetic and vigilant security guards to join our team in the city and Staten Island areas. This role is vital in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, staff, visitors, and property. As a security guard, you will be responsible for monitoring premises, controlling access points, and responding swiftly to any incidents. Your proactive approach and keen observation skills will ensure the safety of everyone on-site while upholding the highest standards of security protocol.
Responsibilities
- Monitor designated areas through CCTV surveillance systems to detect suspicious activity or security breaches
- Control access to buildings and outdoor spaces by verifying identities and issuing passes or badges
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned locations to identify potential hazards or unauthorized individuals
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as needed
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and security checks for accountability and reporting purposes
- Enforce safety policies and conflict management procedures to de-escalate tense situations effectively
- Assist with loss prevention efforts by observing and preventing theft or vandalism
Requirements
- Proven experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of surveillance technology such as CCTV systems and alarm monitoring equipment
- Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable to respond effectively during emergencies
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Familiarity with law enforcement procedures and loss prevention techniques
- Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods while maintaining alertness
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with team members, clients, and the public
