About the Role
We are seeking compassionate, dependable Residential Direct Care Staff to support adolescent girls in a structured, trauma-informed group home environment. This role focuses on safety, supervision, emotional support, and helping residents develop healthy life skills — in alignment with North Carolina DHHS childcare residential regulations.
Duties
- Provide supervision, guidance, and positive role modeling at all times
- Support daily routines (meals, hygiene, chores, homework, activities)
- Build healthy, professional relationships with residents
- Help residents practice coping skills and emotional regulation
- Transport residents to appointments and activities (as assigned)
- Document shift notes, logs, incidents, and communication accurately
- Follow individualized service plans and behavior support plans
- Maintain a safe, clean, trauma-informed living environment
- Participate in staff meetings and required trainings
- Respond calmly and appropriately during crises using approved methods
Minimum Requirements (North Carolina)
- Must be at least 21 years old (per NC rules for residential childcare)
- High school diploma or GED required (college coursework preferred)
- Ability to pass all NC background screenings, including: Criminal background check / fingerprinting; Child abuse/neglect registry check; Sex offender registry check
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (NC preferred)
- Current TB test (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Health/physical clearance demonstrating ability to perform job duties
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before or shortly after hire)
- Medication Administration training (MAR) — or willingness to complete
- Willingness to complete NC-required pre-service training and ongoing annual training
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and remain active during shifts
- Strong verbal and written communication skillsPreferred: Experience in residential care, foster care, mental/behavioral health, DSS/DHHS settings, or work with youth with trauma.

Schedule & Pay
