TK/Kindergarten Teacher (Part-Time)

Joobilo Academic Community is seeking a warm, energetic, and engaging TK/Kindergarten Teacher who is passionate about creating a joyful foundation for learning. We are looking for an educator who understands the importance of nurturing the whole child while building early academic, social, and emotional skills in a fun and encouraging classroom environment.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children and can create engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that foster curiosity, creativity, confidence, and a love of learning. Experience teaching Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, or early elementary students is highly desirable.
All classes are taught in person.
About Joobilo
Joobilo Academic Community is a homeschool organization serving students in grades K–12 through a variety of academic and enrichment classes. We partner with homeschooling families to provide engaging educational experiences in a supportive community. An understanding of Classical Education is a plus.
Schedule
- Teaching Days: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
- Typical Teaching Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00/4:30 PM (depending on campus assignment)
- Additional paid prep and grading time may be completed at home or in the office.
- Attendance is required at a monthly in-person staff meeting on Mondays from 4:00–5:30 PM.
- Specific teaching schedules, campus assignments, and work hours will be confirmed in the offer letter.
Position Overview

Through engaging lessons, hands-on learning, purposeful play, rich literature, and meaningful exploration, our TK and Kindergarten students develop strong early literacy, mathematics, communication, and critical-thinking skills that prepare them for lifelong learning.
This teacher will provide engaging instruction in early literacy, mathematics, handwriting, science, social studies, art, and other foundational subjects while fostering curiosity, creativity, confidence, and a genuine love of learning.
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that support early childhood learning.
- Foster early literacy, math, language, social-emotional, and fine motor development.
- Create a joyful classroom filled with hands-on learning, exploration, and discovery.
- Use songs, games, movement, centers, crafts, and interactive activities to reinforce learning.
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, kindness, and independence.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual learners.
- Maintain classroom routines that provide structure while encouraging student growth.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
- Maintain student attendance, records, and other required documentation.
- Manage student behavior using positive classroom management techniques.
- Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Participate in school activities, collaborative planning, and staff meetings as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience (credential not required).
- Experience teaching Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, or primary elementary grades preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate instructional practices.
- Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and families.
- Experience developing and implementing curriculum is preferred.
- An understanding of homeschool education and Classical Education is a plus.
- Physical ability to sit on the floor, kneel, bend, lift classroom materials, and actively participate with young learners throughout the day.
Compensation
$23.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Additional paid prep and grading time is provided.
