Position Summary:
Shipping employees are responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant movement of goods, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming deliveries for damage, discrepancies, or missing items, and report issues promptly
- Retrieve items from storage, package them securely, and attach correct labels and/or documentation
- Prepare shipping and receiving reports, update shipment tracking data, and report irregularities or delays to supervisors
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and environmental regulations
- Completion of routine paperwork
- Obtain and process product orders, register deliveries, and distribute packages
- Organize, clean, and stock; count inventory; and maintain accurate shipping/receiving logs
- Schedule large shipments, plan storage space
- Assist with troubleshooting shipping issues
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., stand, walk, twist, push, pull, bend and tolerate repetitive movements
- Ability to work in a freezer/cooler environment (-0 to 32 degrees)
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Basic level of reading, writing, counting, and label-checking skills
- Perform daily tasks while following all food safety, GMP, and workplace safety guidelines.
- Maintain strong organizational and time management skills
- Communicating effectively with team members
Technology/Equipment:
- WMS/SAGE software
- Hand-held scanners and tablets
- Operate standing and sitting forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment safely
