Job Overview
Jones Brothers Towing & Trucking is looking for a new team member to join our growing family. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Wrecker Operator to join our team. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various types of trucks. Hourly pay plus commission for after hours work.
Essential Duties
- Operate various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, flatbeds, heavy duty vehicles
- Transport goods and materials to and from designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving on public roads.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the truck.
- Preform routine maintenance on vehicles, including checking and changing oil, water and tire pressure.
- Ensure cargo is properly secured and loaded.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies and Abilities
- Safety is our number one priority.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles.
- Familiarity with different types of trucks such as heavy wreckers, tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, flatbeds, and dump trucks.
- Strong customer service skills, professional demeanor.
- Excellent navigation skills and ability to read maps or use GPS systems effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety compliance.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Basic technology skills.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
- Valid Class A CDL/Heavy Wrecker experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to use GPS effectively
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in transportation
- Clean driving record
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.Physical Requirements Job requires lifting, crawling, pulling, constant use of hands, significant bending and reaching, climbing. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, working outdoors in the environment can be exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud. Lifting over 50 to 75lbs is a job requirement must not have any lifting restrictions and must not be afraid of heights.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
