What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vineyard Assistant position at JONATHAN EDWARDS WINERY?
Jonathan Edwards Winery is seeking a candidate to fulfill the position of Vineyard Assistant. Vineyard duties include: pruning, vine training, canopy management, trellis maintenance and repairs, application of bird netting, field scouting, and harvesting. The work is mainly outdoors and all seasons, therefore the ability to work in various weather conditions (cold, heat, rain ect.) is essential. The position also requires trimming, mowing, and other grounds tasks such as, tending garden/flower beds and trash cleanup/removal. Other duties may include bottling, light building maintenance (powerwashing, painting), assistance with tractor maintanence, and cleaning. The position can be physically demanding at times and requires being fit enough to be on your feet most of the day and also bend and squat frequently, depending on the task. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance is also required.
This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday-Friday from 8-5, with a one hour lunch break at noon, with occasional evening shifts to provide setup, support, and cleanup for concerts/events.
