We’re hiring Turning Machinists who can set up and run complex parts with minimal supervision—and we’re backing it up with competitive pay, industry-leading benefits and up to a $5,000 hiring/retention bonus.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC Turning centers (lathes) with minimal supervision
- Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings
- Select tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters for optimal efficiency and quality
- Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.)
- Edit and optimize CNC programs (G-code or CAM-generated) to improve cycle times and tool life
- Troubleshoot machining issues, including tool wear, chatter, and dimensional inaccuracies
- Maintain tight tolerances and ensure parts meet customer and quality standards
- Train and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 machinists as needed
- Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment is in safe working condition
- Document production data and maintain accurate records
Qualifications
Required:
- 5 years of CNC Turning experience in a manufacturing environment
- Advanced knowledge of CNC lathe setup, operation, and programming
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Proficiency with measuring tools and inspection techniques
- Experience editing G-code and/or working with CAM software
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs
Preferred:
- Experience with multi-axis or live-tooling lathes
- Familiarity with controls such as Fanuc, Haas, or Okuma
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
- Technical certification in machining or related field
