About the Role
This is a dual-role position that blends hands-on surgical expertise with organizational leadership. You will assist in oral surgery and implant procedures while also managing patient coordination and department operations. It’s perfect for someone who can balance clinical and administrative responsibilities through proactivity, detail-orientation, and seamless management of both clinical and administrative tasks while leading the department to ensure efficient and high-quality patient care.
Primary Location: Brentwood, TN (will be expected to travel to nearby offices – all within 30 mins of Nashville)
Your Responsibilities:
Clinical/Surgical Support
- Assist the oral surgeon with all surgical, sedation, and implant procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout
- Prepare and maintain instruments, supplies, and sterile environments
- Manage pre-op education, medical history review, consent forms, and post-op care including managing complications or emergencies
- Take digital radiographs, impressions, models, and CBCT scans for implant treatment planning
- Maintain sterile areas, surgical supply and medication inventory, set up rooms appropriately for each surgery, and ensure that all equipment is ready
Patient & Department Coordination
- Serve as the main point of contact for oral surgery and implant patients
- Coordinate scheduling, consultations, evaluations, and follow-ups
- Maintain complete and accurate treatment records that are up to date and include: treatment notes, pre-and-post-op instructions, and medical releases
- Collaborate with front office for financial and treatment planning
- Ensure regulatory compliance and departmental efficiency
Qualifications (Required):
- Registered Dental Assistant with oral surgery and implantology experience
- Sedation experience
- Experience in patient coordination, scheduling, and education
- Expert in dental/medical terminology and surgical protocols
- Skilled in CareStack or similar practice management software
- Positive, proactive attitude with excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing consistent quality of care
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex treatment plans to patients in a clear and compassionate manner
- CPR/BLS certification
- Strong organizational skills and leadership mindset
