Cookeville Oral Surgery is a growing oral and maxillofacial surgery practice serving the Cookeville community and surrounding areas. Our office is committed to providing the highest quality and standards of patient care and comfort in oral surgery. We are looking for a positive, energetic, and self-motivated individual to join our clinical team.
Primary responsibilities:
- Prepare operatories and set up surgical instrument trays for scheduled procedures
- Assist the surgeon chairside during extractions, implant placement, bone grafting, IV sedation cases, and other oral surgery procedures
- Monitor patients during IV sedation and accurately record vitals
- Take and process dental radiographs, including CBCT scans
- Review medical histories and assist with patient intake and informed consent documentation
- Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and infection control standards
- Manage surgical supply inventory and place orders as needed
- Provide clear post-operative instructions and discharge patients safely
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in the practice management system
- Coordinate with the front office team to ensure efficient patient flow throughout the day
- Perform other clinical and administrative duties as needed to support the team
Education/Experience
- CDA/RDA certification required
- Previous oral surgery or dental assisting experience preferred
- Radiology certification
- Nitrous certification
- BLS/CPR certification
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Familiarity with dental practice management software is preferred
