About the Company
Our client is a privately-owned company based in downtown Charleston, with business units in consumer finance and real estate. They're a close-knit corporate office looking to add a friendly, organized person to run their front desk.
The Role
You'll be the first face people see when they walk in and the first voice they hear on the phone. Some days you're greeting visitors and managing calls, other days you're helping HR with paperwork or making sure the office doesn't run out of supplies. It's a good fit if you like having a routine but don't mind when the day throws you a curveball, and if you take pride in keeping things running smoothly.
What You'll Do
- Greet and welcome visitors, clients, and vendors in a professional, friendly manner
- Answer, screen, and route incoming calls on a multi-line phone system
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and presentation-ready
- Field customer inquiries and direct them to the right department
- Monitor corporate office supplies and place orders for store locations (supplies, deposit slips, checks, ink)
- Coordinate conference room scheduling and visitor accommodations
- Maintain electronic and paper filing systems
- Support data entry, recordkeeping, and document management
- Help plan and run company events, meetings, and employee functions
- Assist HR with onboarding paperwork and administrative tasks
- Provide general clerical and administrative support across the office
What You Bring
- 2 years in a receptionist, administrative, or front-desk type role
- Comfortable answering and routing calls on a multi-line phone system
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Friendly and professional — you're comfortable being the first face people see
- Detail-oriented and reliable; things don't slip through the cracks on your watch
- Can juggle a few things at once and roll with a busy day
- High school diploma or equivalent (an associate's or bachelor's degree is a nice-to-have, not required)
- Valid driver's license
Logistics
- Location: Downtown Charleston, SC 29403 — this is an in-person role, not remote
- Candidates must be able to commute to, or relocate to, Charleston, SC before starting
- A background check is required in accordance with local and state regulations
