Key Responsibilities Include
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver adult programs that reflect community interests and align with department goals
- Develop program ideas, build community partnerships, and evaluate program success for continuous improvement
- Provide high-quality public service by assisting patrons with print, digital, and community resources
- Select, order, and maintain adult collections, including ongoing weeding and organization
- Assist patrons with Adult Services technology, including computers, printers, scanners, and digital resources
- Support patrons with basic computer use, internet searching, and navigating library databases and the catalog
- Provide readers’ advisory services through booklists, displays, and one-on-one recommendations
- Place holds, assist with interlibrary borrowing requests, and answer account-related questions
- Serve as Person in Charge as needed and assist with daily service desk operations
- Participate in professional development and contribute to internal committees and team initiatives
- Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program (required)
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse patrons
- Experience or demonstrated interest in planning and leading adult programs
- Comfort with technology, including digital collections and common software applications
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
- Clear communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
