Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to handle key accounting functions. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in QuickBooks Online version, including accrual-based financial reporting, a/r a/p management, and overseeing full-service payroll, with strong attention to detail.
Position is as an independent contractor, one day each week, approx. 8 hours weekly, with occasional need for additional hours during year-end prep, etc. Willing to work on-site for one day per week during the first month of training. After training, on-site one day a month, the rest of the month can be remote. Ideal start date is week of June 23, 2026

Duties
- Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks
- Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently
- Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Handle payroll processing and related tax filings with accuracy and compliance
- Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and technical accounting tasks as needed
- Perform double entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate debits & credits in all transactions
- Write detailed financial reports and support audit processes when required
Experience
- Proven experience in corporate or non-profit accounting environments
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks
- Experience with bank reconciliation, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management
- Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, and budget management is preferred
- Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks
- Prior experience in public accounting or technical accounting roles is a plus
