Human Resources Manager (Remote)

About the Role

Joint Ventures is the largest franchisee of The Joint Chiropractic, operating 84 clinics across five western states and continuing to grow. Our clinics are dedicated to delivering high-quality, affordable chiropractic care in a convenient retail setting.

As part of The Joint Chiropractic system which delivers more than 12 million patient visits annually across nearly 1,000 locations nationwide we play a key role in expanding access to wellness care at scale.

Together, we are part of a movement recognized by Forbes, Fortune, and Franchise Times, redefining how care is delivered and making it more accessible, consumer-friendly, and consistent across communities.

Position Summary

The Joint Chiropractic is redefining how healthcare is delivered: making it more accessible, affordable, and patient-focused. As we continue to grow, we are building an HR function that not only supports the business, but actively shapes how work gets done, with a strong focus on minimizing risk and ensuring compliance across a multi-state operation.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Human Resources Manager to lead our HR function and partner closely with our Operations team. This role plays a critical part in supporting employee performance, ensuring legal compliance, mitigating organizational risk, and fostering a strong, values-driven workplace culture.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is confident navigating complex employee situations, and can proactively identify and address risk across employee relations, compliance, and policy application. You will sit at the intersection of execution and improvement owning the day-to-day employee life-cycle while driving more effective, modern ways of working across the organization.

Success in this role comes from the ability to bring structure to complexity, simplify where needed, proactively mitigate risk, and consistently raise the standard of how HR delivers value.

What You’ll Do

  • Champion and uphold company culture, core values, mission, and vision
  • Partner with leadership on employee performance, including coaching, corrective action, and performance improvement plans
  • Lead and support employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and terminations
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws; update policies and employee handbook accordingly
  • Develop and deliver training programs to support leadership effectiveness and employee growth
  • Manage and execute annual compliance trainings
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to improve retention strategies
  • Support workers’ compensation claims and employment-related legal matters
  • Maintain HR systems, processes, and documentation, including job descriptions and employment verifications
  • Partner cross-functionally (including accounting) on garnishments and related communications
  • Support employee benefits education and enrollment to drive understanding and participation
  • Establish and manage an anonymous employee reporting process
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve HR processes and elevate how the function supports the business
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support company growth

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and guide decision-making
  • Highly professional with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinker who can operate independently and make sound decisions
  • Ability to navigate complex and sensitive employee situations with confidence
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to see both the details and the big picture
  • A mindset focused on improving processes—not just maintaining them
  • Advanced computer and systems proficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–4 years of leadership experience, ideally within Human Resources
  • Experience in employee relations, performance management, and compliance
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-location or service-based environment is a plus

Additional Requirements

  • Fully remote role with flexibility to support a distributed workforce
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed and regular attendance necessary
  • Ability to travel periodically for leadership meetings or operational support
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods with reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds

Benefits:

  • Remote work opportunity with occasional travel (up to 20%)
  • Home office stipend to support a productive remote work environment
  • Competitive salary
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Wellness benefits (free chiropractic care)
  • 401(k) plan with company match
  • Professional development opportunities
  • A dynamic and collaborative work environment
