Location: Joint Relief Institute - Oak Brook/Northbrook
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
Responsibilities:
  • Answer patient phone calls related to billing, insurance coverage, payments, and account questions.
  • Discuss insurance benefits, coverage, and costs with patients in person or by phone.
  • Adjust and allocate patient accounts as needed based on insurance payments and patient responsibility.
  • Apply patient payments to accounts accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Review patient statements for accuracy before mailing.
  • Send out medical records to requesting facilities while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Work on assigned reports provided by the supervisor, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and collaborate with coworkers and departments.
  • Stay up to date with billing policies, insurance procedures, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist in other departments when needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of the Claim Revenue Cycle.
  • Experience in medical billing, coding, or high-volume processing is preferred.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of individuals, patients, providers, clinical staff, business office personnel, and insurance companies.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and apply policies and principles to solve daily challenges and handle a variety of situations.
  • Proven analytical skills, with the ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Knowledgeable in MS Suite programs including Excel, Word, Outlook and Analytics Reporting.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus!
