What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk 122nd and I-235 Location position at Join Our Team?
The primary purpose of the Shipping Clerk position is to ensure the accurate and timely closing of orders in the Oracle system and to verify that all paperwork aligns with the items being shipped. Additionally, the Shipping Clerk is responsible for ensuring that all skids are loaded onto trailers for transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Receive inbound shipments and verify products against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing products for accuracy, quantity, and visible damage.
- Accurately process shipments using warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, scanners, and other inventory control tools.
- Prepare finished goods orders for shipment, including picking, staging, packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Coordinate outbound shipments with carriers and transportation providers.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
- Investigate and report inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, and shipping errors.
- Organize and maintain warehouse storage locations to ensure efficient material flow and inventory control.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment, as authorized and trained.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with other warehouse and distribution activities as assigned.
Minimum Qualification
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or inventory control experience preferred.
- Experience working with warehouse management systems, inventory software, or ERP systems preferred.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
- Ability to accurately complete and maintain shipping and receiving documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and inventory management systems.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
