Manager Responsibilities:
- Continually evaluate store personnel to ensure employees are in the correct role.
- Participate in the hiring, recruiting, and interview process to identify qualified candidates within established processes and guidelines.
- Establish, communicate, and model high performance expectations for all store team members while setting clear store goals and encouraging employees to create their own self‑set goals.
- Monitor accountability for company, store, and self-set goals by conducting formal staff reviews and providing ongoing informal feedback to manage employee performance, corrective actions, and reward systems with direct reports.
- Ensure team members have the knowledge and skills needed to effectively perform their jobs by reviewing the implementation of regular training and learning opportunities to develop employees for promotion.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to optimize productivity and facilitate cross-training of employees, as needed.
- Lead with a positive attitude to ensure branch culture is focused on servicing customers, while fostering a team-oriented atmosphere and maintaining open communication to support a healthy work environment.
- Work with sales department to identify areas for improvement.
- Adhere to and train employees to maintain proper workplace procedures, policies, and safety protocols.
- Manage employees and resolve customer or employee issues, escalating ongoing concerns to supervisor when needed.
- Facilitate or lead projects as assigned
Sales Duties
- Assist with customer service and sales by answering phones, greeting customers, servicing the sales counter, and providing product recommendations and/or price quotes.
- Pull material for orders and assist with loading material into customer vehicle when requested.
- Replenish and restock counter shelves to ensure adequate inventory levels per instruction from branch manager.
- Work with branch manager to develop and execute sales promotions and counter activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse to ensure a safe work environment, keeping aisles free of hazards, and reporting any unsafe conditions to management.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and other equipment safely and in accordance with organizational procedures, accessing Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as needed and when appropriate.
- Maintains required hazardous materials, forklift, and other internal and external certifications.
- Assist with annual physical count of full warehouse inventory.
