What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Manager position at Johnstone Supply Group 77?
Maintain, manage, and protect all aspects of the total GD Supply computer systems and networks including all hardware and software resources, and support all GD Supply associates in the efficient use of these resources
Positions Essential Functions
Keep all computer and network hardware equipment properly upgraded and maintained
Keep all computer and network software properly upgraded and maintained
Keep all computer files currently and properly copied to backup media for safeguard
Keep all proper software safeguards updated and maintained to guard against virus/worm/malware attacks
Acts as liaison between GD Supply and all software providers including Intuit Eclipse the primary business software provider, and as liaison between GD Supply and all ISP providers
Maintenance and repair of RF scanners and attendant equipment
Maintenance and administration of wireless networks
Provide help to associates involving computer issues relating to their job duties
Write and generate reports for managers and owners to assist in management of organization
Administration assistance of organization’s email services
Administration assistance with organization’s website
Inventory all computer assets and properly dispose of old or obsolete hardware equipment
Periodic cleaning of all computer room equipment
Stay abreast of current technology and issues which my affect and/or enhance the organization and advise management
Apply pricing updates to selected product lines and adding/updating product lines as needed
Oversee data transmissions with Johnstone Supply Corporate
Maintain and administrate EDI communications
Maintain a logical map of networks with IP addresses, computer names and data lines
Phone system maintenance and any programming changes
Gathering, reviewing, and submitting monthly for the Goodman vendor rebates
Reviewing and approving any IT related purchase and expenditure vendor invoices
Additional Responsibilities
Special projects or duties as assigned by management; however, GD Supply believes that each associate’s contribution should not be limited by the assigned responsibilities. It is therefore our expectation that each associate will offer their services wherever and whenever necessary to ensure the success of our endeavors.
Physical Requirements
Able to lift or move 30 pounds, reach, stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time and do repetitive motions
Qualifications
2 or 4 year college diploma
Good communication skills including phone etiquette, legible handwriting, accurate spelling & grammar
Good listening, planning, administration and presentation skills
Good working knowledge of the phone system, computer software and hardware applications
Willingness to train and learn on all computer software and hardware applications
Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities and assignments
Self-starter with a positive attitude
Ability to work with others and to perform multiple tasks
Must be able to handle confrontational situations
