Job Title: Civil Engineer
Job Summary: Work encompasses all aspects of project management and engineering of residential, commercial, municipal and institutional projects.
Essential Duties: This position requires the following essential duties:
- Representing Johnson Engineering as district engineer for Community Development Districts (CDDs). Ability to understand construction plans, permits, and plats to determine CDDs responsibilities. Comfortable attending and speaking at public CDD board meetings.
- Ability to write technical reports, scopes of work, letters, project summaries, and emails.
- Assemble bid packages and request for proposals (RFPs).
- Project management assistance on various types of land development projects including client coordination, contract negotiation, developing and maintaining project schedules, construction administration and maintaining project budgets.
- Overseeing CAD designers and project coordination with other departments, professions, and agencies.
- Coordinating permit technicians and administration in completing permit applications and moving permit application process forward.
- Construction observations, preparing field observation reports of construction activity, and witnessing critical tasks during construction.
Qualifications:
- Engineer or project manager with 4 years or more of experience in civil engineering development projects or equivalent experience.
- Community Development District (CDD) experience is desired.
- Strong written and verbal skills are required. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook are required.
- Position requires contact with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Must have an excellent driving record and have a valid Florida driver’s license as driving is an essential part of the position.
