What are the responsibilities and job description for the Co-Op Engineering position at Johnson Outdoors?
As part of your Co-Op with us, you can do the following:
- Assist in the selection, evaluation and testing of electronic components and circuits
- Learning to use Mentor Graphics Schematic Capture and PCB Layout tools.
- Participate in schematic and product reviews with various disciplines and see how a product design cycle is accomplished from product conception to production release in our state of the art facilities
- Learn existing test equipment and assist in product testing and certifications –Thermal chamber, spectrum analyzer, etc. Our products have to undergo various tests to ensure design quality. Testing involves various pieces of electronic equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, as well as Thermal tests in Thermal chambers.
- Hands on building of electronic boards/circuits. Work directly with engineers on the latest designs as you build, test, and modify circuits and design assemblies.
- Participate in Engineering/Manufacturing/Quality reviews. We are one of the few companies that actually designs and does product assembly stateside. Your experience with us will not only expose you to the fascinating design world of fish finders, but you will also be able to see those products being assembled, tested and shipped out to customers.
- You may have an opportunity to go out on the water and test the sonar and equipment you develop. At a minimum, you will have nice view of the lake from your office.
