Position Summary: An intern supports the assigned design department by assisting with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments and active participation in project design and documentation, to gain practical experience and support their educational development.
Compensation for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hourly, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. We notice that we receive a wide variety of applicants and recognize that the person selected may be less experienced or more experienced. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Assist senior or lead (architects, engineers, interior designers, project managers) with basic tasks, including research, simple studies, and requested support
- Support the creation of presentation and marketing materials
- Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed
- Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices
- Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members
- Receive guidance and direction from supervisors and team leaders
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other multidisciplinary team members
- Assist Project Controls staff with schedule and cost management tasks, including updating schedules, tracking progress, and supporting basic cost and forecasting tasks under supervision.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of project controls systems and tools (e.g. scheduling and cost tracking software, dashboards and reporting platforms) by entering data, running standard reports, and ensuring information accuracy.
- Help compile and organize project controls deliverables and documentation, such as progress reports, change logs, and risk registers, while participating in coordination meetings with project managers, engineers, and schedulers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Familiarity in using standard Microsoft Office for document creation and email communication
- Ability to prepare well organized, clear, and concise written materials
- Ability to support work with attention to detail and creativity
- Developing presentation skills, including communicating ideas to different groups
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively with guidance from supervisors
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate well with others
- Full-time student currently pursuing an ABET accredited undergraduate degree in civil engineering with an interest in transportation project
- Coursework in a related field
- Previous internship or relevant work experience
- Familiarity with design and production software, with the ability to use these tools to develop project documents and collaborate with project team members
