Job title: Technical Manager Location: Savannah With over 200 years of history, Johnson Matthey is accelerating the transition to net zero. As a Technical Manager, you will manage the Savannah Additives production technology portfolio, leading engineering best practice, resolving complex manufacturing issues, and partnering with R&D and Operations to optimize processes and support the successful scale-up and introduction of new products. The role: As a Technical Manager, you will help drive our goals by: Leading complex production and process engineering issue resolution to ensure world-class manufacturing performance. Managing the Savannah Additives production technology portfolio and driving equipment and process optimization. Partnering with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing Technology and Production to deliver successful plant trials and technology projects. Providing subject matter expertise to guide NPI and PIM design, scale-up and implementation. Driving engineering best practice, ensuring efficient, effective technical solutions and supporting major capital project development. Strong leadership, stakeholder management and coordination capabilities, supported by a proactive mindset, enthusiasm and the ability to foster effective cross-functional collaboration. Key skills that will help you succeed in this role: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical. Extensive experience (7 years) in the chemical process industry and leading technical projects. Strong background in managing large capital projects and working with equipment suppliers. Proven ability to influence, collaborate and build effective relationships across R&D, Manufacturing Technologies, Production and Engineering. Solid knowledge of process optimisation, continuous improvement and operational excellence principles, with the ability to perform effectively in an on-site, day-to-day operational environment.
