Shipping Clerk

Description

Under the direction of the Shipping Manager, this position loads and unloads trucks, receives, verifies and stores incoming inventory items, and completes paperwork as needed.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

• Load materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
• Conveys units or pallets from storage or work areas to designated areas
• Loads and unloads parts onto or from pallets, trays racks and shelves by hand
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to completed units or marks other information on other types of packaging
• Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands together
• Wraps, skid and anchors units to pallets for shipping or exporting as required
• Notifies Shipping Manager when orders are completed and ready for shipping
• Enters order numbers and prints BOL's from SAP
• Regular and reliable attendance
• Keep area clean and organized
• Follow safety procedures and instructions
• Maintain productivity throughout shift
• Meet the daily production schedule as provided by Shipping Manager
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Requirements

Education

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  
  

Experience

• Minimum one year of shipping and/or receiving experience
• Minimum one year of forklift experience
  
  

Other Requirements

• Ability to work overtime
• Ability to read a tape measure
