0.63 FTE PRE-K TEACHER AT THE JOHNSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL -Five day per week position
Reports to: The Johnson School Building Principal
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creatively provide an interdisciplinary course of study that integrates reading, writing, and analytical skills development in alignment with state curricular frameworks for core content areas.
- Implement district learning goals and objectives using a standards-based curriculum
- Create a developmentally appropriate, child-centered environment that establishes positive student behavioral expectations conducive to all learners' needs through structured routines and positive behavioral interventions.
- Establish a classroom structure that values positive relationships through the intentional implementation of an appropriate curriculum
- Comfortable with technology: experience with Google Classroom is preferred.
- Other duties typical for a classroom teacher.
Job Requirements
- Massachusetts Elementary certification (Elementary Pre-K to Grade 2)
- SEI endorsement
- Master’s Degree preferred

PreK Teacher (Part-Time, 0.63 FTE)
Johnson Elementary School is looking to fill a PreK Teacher position to meet the needs of our early childhood learners. We are seeking a dedicated, student-centered educator who is passionate about early learning and believes that all young children can thrive through developmentally appropriate, engaging, and inclusive instruction.
Position: PreK Teacher
Schedule: Part-Time, 0.63 FTE
Start Date: July 1, 2026
Qualifications (Required):
- Massachusetts educator license in Early Childhood (PreK–2)
- Experience with developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood education
- Strong knowledge of early literacy and foundational skill development aligned to Science of Reading
- Commitment to inclusive practices and supporting diverse learners
- Maintains high expectations for all students using play-based, language-rich, and research-aligned instructional practices
- Professionally confident and collaborative to support all learners through strong communication and thoughtful instructional decision-making
Preferred Qualifications:
- Massachusetts educator license in Moderate Disabilities (PreK–8)
- Experience supporting students with IEPs in inclusive early childhood settings
- Familiarity with PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) and CASEL Competencies
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with families, colleagues, and support staff
Responsibilities:
- Provide developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with early childhood standards and district curriculum
- Create a structured, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that supports social-emotional and academic growth
- Support inclusive practices and collaborate with special education staff to meet the needs of all learners
- Deliver evidence-based early literacy and foundational skill instruction
- Monitor student progress and communicate growth with families and team members
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success
- Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and needs of students and families, fostering a supportive and inclusive school community
- Contribute to a positive school culture that emphasizes high expectations and student success
- Possess a positive attitude and growth mindset
