The duties of the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney shall be performed by attorneys-at-law duly admitted to the Bar of the State of Missouri.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and prosecute criminal cases in court, including arraignments, trials, and sentencing hearings.
- Duties shall be performed at the direction and under the supervision of the Elected Prosecuting Attorney.
- Responsible for special assignments, legal research assignments, and special Prosecutor assignments as determined by the Elected Prosecutor.
- Responsible for filing of charges, prosecution of cases when appropriate.
- Appearing before the Court for recurring arraignment, pre-trial, bench trial, and jury trial dockets.
- Draft legal documents, motions, and pleadings with precision and clarity.
- Negotiate plea agreements with defense attorneys to achieve just resolutions while safeguarding public interests.
- Review evidence, interview witnesses, and gather facts to build compelling cases.
Minimum Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar with a valid license to practice law in the State of Missouri, and be a member in good standing.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in case management and legal drafting.
SALARY: $80,000 PER YEAR
