Job Title: Lead Clinical Social Worker Location: Johns Hopkins Health System — Office of Population Health (OPH)
Overview: Lead and deliver behavioral health services across community, primary care, and acute care settings. Provide direct patient care, supervise behavioral health staff, coordinate with medical teams, and support system-level improvements.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct screening, assessment, brief treatment, crisis/safety planning, and referrals.
- Deliver evidence-based therapies (MI, CBT, behavioral activation, trauma-informed care) and support office-based substance use/health behavior programs.
- Supervise and mentor behavioral health staff, including Health Behavioral Specialists; serve as acting lead when needed.
- Coordinate care with psychiatrists, physicians, case managers, and community partners.
- Develop individualized care plans, contribute to team meetings, and recommend care delivery improvements.
- Perform outreach, patient/family education, community linkage, and accurate EHR documentation; escalate issues as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- MSW from a CSWE-accredited program.
- Maryland LCSW-C with approval as a Social Work Supervisor; must maintain licensure.
- Minimum 5 years behavioral health experience, including 2 years at LCSW/LCSW-C level; primary care or hospital experience preferred.
- Skilled in suicidality assessment, crisis planning, and common behavioral health modalities; willing to learn office-based SUD interventions.
- Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and electronic documentation skills.

Salary Range: Minimum 39.56/hour - Maximum 65.34/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
