What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Specialist - Oncology position at Johns Hopkins Medicine?
The Education Specialist position is at the Sibley Memorial Hospital. You will participate in the planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating activities associated with comprehensive hospital-wide nursing education. This includes general and specific programs including nursing orientation, in-service education and continuing education to all nursing staff. Provides specialized education in the areas of Skilled Nursing Unit.
Schedule: 20 hours per week, day shift, no weekends, no on call.
MUST HAVE: The right candidate will have an extensive experience in Oncology, including hematology, cellular therapy and solid tumor in acute care settings. Additionally, the candidate must have experience in chemo/bio therapy and radiation therapy.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or Education preferred
- Certified in Professional Development preferred
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia
- Minimum of one year teaching nursing staff or nursing students
- CPR - Basic CPR 10000016 Upon Hire (Required)
- Minimum 2 years of Oncology, hematology, cellular therapy, solid tumor, chemo / bio therapy and radiation therapy experience is required
